Margie Gail Greene Swanson, 72, of New Castle, DE, passed away at home on June 29, 2015.

Born June 7, 1943 in Gaffney, SC she was a daughter of the late John and Grace Greene. Gail was a homemaker who greatly enjoyed raising and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an exceptional cook and will be remembered by all for always having something delicious on the stove.

She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, John Jack Swanson, her son, Jack, her parents, two brothers and her sister.

Gail is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bloom of Middletown; sons, David E. and Daniel T., both of New Castle; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday morning, July 3, 2015, at The Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am and 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gail’s name may be made to The Heaven S. Swanson Memorial Fund, c/o Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720.
