Maria Hayden

Maria Hayden, age 91, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
Born in Meppen Hemsen, Germany on July 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth Van Der Pütten. Maria was a talented seamstress and decorator and will always be remembered for her creative work.
Maria enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking but was happiest when spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her brother, Herman Van Der Pütten. She is survived by her sons, Shawn Hayden (Marjorie) of Townsend and Kevin Hayden of Middletown; grandchildren, Kyle Hayden and Jennifer Hayden.
A visitation of family and friends will be held from 11 am until 11:30 am on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2101 Red Lion Road, Bear, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria’s name to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
