5 Condolences for Marion Goode Shirkey

  • What a unique and gifted person – Marion was a shining light in our Master Gardener organization with her signature combination of charm and intellectual rigor. She was brave to the end. She will be sorely missed.

  • Marion was a family friend, mentor, generous and giving person. She will be missed by us immensely but she is no longer suffering. Rest in Oeace Marion

  • Bruce was proud of Uncle Paul when he introduced this grand lady to his family. When Uncle Paul passed, Aunt Marion kept us in her life which softened, and in some ways, delayed our loss of him. We cherish every memory from her visit to Arizona with Bertha to our precious communications over the years. Bruce fondly remembers Aunt Marion’s advice when he was struggling with a difficult decision. He followed her advice and has been grateful ever since. (“Bruce, sometimes we just have to do things we do not want to.”) Our church has been praying and will continue to pray for her grieving family and friends.

  • Marion became a friend when we were both at Millcroft. Altogh she was ill, she was still able to go beyond her own illness and continue to discusss current issues. She was a gracious, charming person.
    I miss her.

  • Marion was a dear friend of our family for 20 years- she was there in the bad times, coming over right after my Dad died- and in the good ones too. I dread sitting in church without her- she was our Sunday school teacher, and stalwart of Head of Christiana. Marion had good sense and was a true lady. She exemplified what friendship is all about. We will miss our dear friend.
