  • Noel and Paul,
I am so sad to hear of Mark’s passing. I do not know if you remember me but I am Tom Naylor, I lived and grew up with you guys in Chestnut Hills Estate, Newark Delaware. Noel and I were the same age and we all played hard together all the time and I live across the street, at 17 Radnor Road. You guys grew up in the house on the corner of Radnor Road and Marlyn Road. We used to always raid the farmers apple tree together, remember the bull the farmer had in the field, Mark always liked throwing apples at it and climbing on the Dragon tree in the woods behind the church and ride our bikes all over the place even to the fields down by what is now the Christiana High School and where I-95 was built. Remember when they had the grand opening for Cherokee Woods and we went and met Sally Star and Chief Half Town there. We used to go to the little store, green leaf store near the side entrance to Chestnut Hills off Ogletown road or when they opened the new 7-11 on Chestnut Hills Road, to get our share of penny candy and stuff. Mark was always the leader in our bike journeys. He was always high spirited and ready to do anything. Remember when we put on a little play after seeing a Hercules movie and Robin Fry (lived across the street from us on Marlyn Road) dressed up like a belly dancer and did the dance of the seven vales. Remember when Roger Eggars, that live directly behind my house, would always pick on Mark and we all got together and got him for picking on Mark. We really had great times as kids growing up in Chestnut Hills Estates. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mark, like I said, he was always the ring leader in our little journeys and always full of life. I wish I could attend the funeral so I could meet up with my old child hood friends again. I can only say Mark will be dearly missed in his passing by me and many more of us that grew up together back then.

  • Hey Kids, I guess this is to you because you are his legacy and he now somewhere so much better. Your dad was a really good man. I admired your dad so much. Some men need to climb mountains and reach the sun to find their destiny. Your dad was not that kind of guy. Your dad was a smart, gifted, kind, loving man who didn’t need to climb mountains. Your dad reached so many people and touched their lives in subtle, kind, and gentle ways. He was so gentle, he never got caught up in nonsense because he was somehow just above it. Your dad was a very, very special person. I loved my time with him, I loved him very much. It hurts to know he no longer is with us even though we have not seen each other in a long while. You guys all have the best of your dad within you, make him proud. My deepest love to all of you, Mr. Reardon
