Mary A. Miles

Mary A. Miles, age 92, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Born in Blandon, PA on August 4, 1925, Mary was the daughter of the late Frederick and Goldie (Bossler) Gift. Throughout her career, she was employed by Shoemaker, Ronson, and BJ’s.

Mary was a member of the Weston Senior Center and the Moose Lodge #1418 for many years where she easily made numerous friends. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards in her leisure time. Most of all, Mary will be remembered for her positive outlook on life and her sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William J. Miles. Mary is survived by her children, Althea Desmond and William F. Miles; foster child, Helen E. Nanceki; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday morning, November 27, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
