Mary Suzanne Wiegand

February 6, 1950 – August 7, 2016

“I am going there to prepare a place for you. And, if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me, so that you will also be where I am” John 14:2-4

Mary Suzanne (Suzie) Wiegand, age 66, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2016 at Christiania Hospital, surrounded by her family, after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. Sue was the daughter of the late Mary Biondi and Richard Garnet.

Sue was a true servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; she faithfully served her family as a Wife to Jerry, Mother to Patti and Cindy, Sister to Rick and Beverly Garnet, Aunt to Jon, Maricela, Jen, Isaac, Dan, and Laura, and Great Aunt to Mark, Ben, Josie, and Anna. She had many other relatives and friends, including her sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Bill Wiegand, Bob Wiegand, Doris and Steve Pasternak, many precious nieces and nephews, and her “adopted sisters” Janet Young and Mary Mace.

Sue loved being part of her church, attending Bible Study Fellowship, and serving others in a selfless manner. Her life was lived with love and compassion for people. Her strength was from the Word of God, and her blessings were her family and friends. She found great joy in helping and giving to others.
Sue has now finished her mission here on earth and can rest in peace. This is not her end, but her beginning – for she is with her Savior. Her love and generosity were a reflection of God’s true love and generosity to us and are an inspiration and example for us as we walk in trust and faith in Jesus Christ.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday morning, August 13, 2016 at the Cornerstone Methodist Church, 3135 Summit Bridge RD, Bear, DE 19701, where a visitation will be held from 9 am until 10. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s memory can be made to Cornerstone Methodist Church at the address listed above.
