Maryann J. Bauer, age 75, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016.
Born in Drexel Hill, PA, on January 21, 1941, Maryann was a daughter of the late John J. and Mary (Walsh) Fries, Sr. She retired from the Naval Air Warfare Center in Lakehurst, NJ after 30 years as a computer operator.
In her leisure time, Maryann enjoyed crocheting and volunteering for Fifty Plus in New Castle and New Castle County special events.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald A. Bauer; children, Maryann Stiebritz of Galloway Twp., NJ, TerriJane Kopcho (Thomas) of Lakeland, FL, Lee John Buaer (Kathy) of Little Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, and John Michael Bauer (Tina) of Galloway Twp., NJ; brother, John James Fries, Jr. of Beachwood, NJ; sister, Bettyann Ward of Pensacola, FL; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1125 Jamison Corner Road, Middletown, DE. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I found out thru Facebook about Maryann’s passing. I worked with her at Lakehurst Navy Base as a Computer Operator also. She was one of my Shift Leaders. A wonderful woman and teacher. So sorry for your loss Don and to all of her children and family. Saw Lee today at work(the base where I still work)and how sad to see someone who has lost their mother. Rest in Peace sweet Lady and know how much you were loved.
