Born March 22, 1964

Michael Harold Mike Cumens, age 52, of Palm Bay, FL and formerly of Hartly, DE, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Palm Bay Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born in Wilmington, DE on March 22, 1964 and was a son of Michael Harold Cook and Delores A. (Sexton) Voiers. He moved to Florida in 2002. Mike attended Ceasar Rodney High School and also received a Doctors of Motors Certificate from Poly Tech. He worked in the construction industry the majority of his life. Mike was a member of American Legion Post #117. An avid fisherman, he loved to be on his boat. Mike also played pro baseball in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael; step mother, Gladys Francis Jones; and sisters, Bridgette Zimath, Teresa Voiers and Rhonda Voiers. Mike is survived by his companion of 16 years, Stacey Rockwell; mother, Delores; children, Amber Patricella, Michael Defina, Christopher Nechay, Victoria Reddy and Bree Cumens; brothers, Kenneth Cumens and Gerald Voiers; sisters, Sylvia Powell (Sam), Dawn Willy (Dan), Marcie Voiers and Donna Murray; and 8 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment will follow in St. Georges Cemetery, Kirkwood-St. Georges Road, St. Georges, DE.
