Michael V. Poczynek, age 94, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2016 while surrounded by his family.
Born in Wilmington, DE on September 24, 1922, Mr. Poczynek was a son of the late Vincent and Agatha (Rowal) Poczynek. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. A mechanic by trade, Mr. Poczynek was employed by Bowlerama in New Castle where he worked for 36 years. He adored spending time with his family and also loved to bowl.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Poczynek was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce L. (Leathem) Poczynek. He is survived by his children, Patti P. McDonald of Wilmington and Kenneth M. Poczynek (Diana) of Pittsburgh, PA; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday afternoon, September 28, 2016, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
