Milford “BT” Butler

October 23, 1946 - December 31, 2017

Milford BT Butler, age 71, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

BT was born in Kinston, NC on October 23, 1946, and was the son of the late Milford and Elnor (Jackson) Butler.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and retired after 20 years of service.  BT spent his career as a Logistics Analysist with the Boeing company for 29 years.

Active in several organizations, BT was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and American Legion.  He was also a life member of the Single Action Shooting Society.  He had a passion for astronomy and history, including collecting old coins and paper money.  BT also enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra.  Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy L. (Stemple) Butler; daughter, Beverly Lynn Butler; granddaughters, Hannah Barnes (Joseph) and Susan Butler (Randy); great grandchildren, Heyden, Scarlett and Harley; step-daughter, Melissa Gherman; step-granddaughter, Olivia Nguyen; and niece, Meghan Stemple.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral  Homes and Crematory, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5 pm until 7 pm.  A funeral service will be held the following morning, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Immanual Episcopal Church on the Green, 2nd and Harmony Streets, New Castle, DE at 10 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
