Nina J. (Collins) Lubbers, age 68, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 15, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Nina was born in Wilmington on May 12, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Joshua Thomas and Anna J. (Graham) Collins. She made her career with Super Fresh, where she worked as a front end employee, retiring after 32 years of dedicated service.

In her leisure time, Nina enjoyed vegetable gardening, collecting wind chimes, and completing puzzle books. She loved the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and looked forward to decorating her house each season. Above all else, Nina treasured spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Dean Lubbers. Nina is survived by her daughter, Michele Immediato of New Castle; son, Michael T. Davis (Shawna) of Lincoln, DE; grandchildren, Shannon, Ashley, and Sierra; great grandchildren, Kayden and Jeffrey; former husband, Michael J. Davis of New Castle; best buddy and faithful canine companion, Cody; and stepson, Eric Lubbers of New Castle.

A committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday morning, September 21, 2017, in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE, where interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nina’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read’s Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
