Nora F. Cebrat

Born August 17, 1920

Nora F. Cebrat, age 96, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Mrs. Cebrat was born in Wilmington on August 17, 1920 and was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Way) Flood. In addition to caring for her family, she worked as a legal secretary for the DuPont Company for a number of years.

Mrs. Cebrat was a longtime member of the Elkton Presbyterian Church where she made many friends. Active in her community, she was one of the original members of the De La Warr High School Band Boosters. In her leisure hours, she enjoyed collecting antiques and adored spending time with her family, especially at their cottage on the Indian River.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cebrat was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ernest J. Cebrat, Sr. She is survived by her sons, Ernest J. Cebrat, Jr. (Susan) and Allan B. Cebrat (Mary), all of Newark; grandchildren, Julie Brown, Bill Cebrat, Eric Cebrat and Lori Nesnow; and 7 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday morning, March 13, 2017 at the Elkton Presbyterian Church, 209 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow at 2 pm in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elkton Presbyterian Church Music Ministry at the address listed above.
