Olimpia Laura Pocetto DiMondi
September 15, 1925 - May 12, 2016
Our loving mother Olimpia Laura DiMondi went to be with her Lord on a beautiful Thursday morning May 12th. She attended Lore Elementary School on Bayard Ave. and Wilmington High School both in Wilmington, DE. Olimpia and her husband Penny were members of the New Castle Elks Lodge No. 484 and supported that organization’s benevolent mission. They loved to travel and their trips included China, South America, Japan and Europe where they would visit relatives in Italy. They loved to vacation with their children. Olimpia loved ballroom dancing with Penny and singing with her family around the dinner table at holidays. She also enjoyed ceramics classes with her friends.
Olimpia is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Dominick Pocetto, sister Jeanette all of Wilmington, DE. Her husband Pasquale R. (Penny) DiMondi of 59 years preceded her in death in the year 2000.
She is survived by her three children Joanna, Patricia and Vincent. Olimpia is also survived by her two sisters Rose and Louise and her brother Rev. Alexander Pocetto OSFS. Olimpia has 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

I was very sorry to hear of your Mother & Grandmother’s passing. The short time I knew her, she was a wonderful ~ sweet lady. I know she is with her Husband & we will all meet again.

Dear Joanna and family,
I just heard of your mothers passing and I am so,so, sorry for your loss. If I had of known before today, I would have been with you and your family at the services. Please know how very sorry I am that I was not there with all of you. I also want to let you know that I’ll always remember your mother as being so beautiful and such a sweet lady. My sincerest and deepest sympathy are with you at this most sad time.

Thanks Gayle. Coming from a large family herself, Mom always enjoyed Grandpop’s Christmas celebrations with all the family around the table in his and Grandmom’s living room. Remember how long the table was? Then dinner happen all day long as extended family would come all day long whenever they could after their own Christmas dinners. Thank you for writing. Love, Pattie
