Page F. Muirhead, age 84, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Born in Easton, Maryland on January 25, 1932, Page was a daughter of the late J. Orville and Mildred (Frampton) Findlay.

Page graduated from Easton High School and the former Western Maryland College, now known as McDaniel College. She was a home economics teacher at Wicomico High School and then began working at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where she met her husband, the late David Muirhead. Page dedicated the remaining years of her career as the Food Service Director for the Emily P. Bissell Hospital in Wilmington, DE, where she retired in 1996. She was a dedicated member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in New Castle, DE. Page was an avid Phillies fan and looked forward to cheering the team on each season. She had a positive outlook on life and was always concerned about the needs of others over her own. Page was a beloved mother and grandmother who will always be remembered for her gentle spirit and brave heart.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Page was preceded in death by her sisters, Aileen Moore and Shirley McKnett.

She is survived by her children, Diana Muirhead, Glenn Muirhead (Karen), and Shirl Ramos (Pete); 2 grandchildren, Mark and Christina Ramos; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will be held in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE, 19701.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E Basin Rd., New Castle, DE 19720 or Heartland Hospice House, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE, 19808.

    Angie & I were saddened to hear that Page’s fight was over. Our heartfelt condolences go to out to you and your families. Page was such a comfort to us when our mother passed away and when we saw her it was reassuring that there were little things that linked the three sisters together. Please know that she is now at peace in the hands of God. And all of you will cherish the memories of your mother as you think of her spirit, her endurance, and her grace. Her love and guidance for each of you will show you the way forward.
