Parke W. Reese, Jr., age 82, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2015.

Born in Wilmington, DE on May 23, 1932, Mr. Reese was a son of the late Parke W. Reese, Sr. and Catherine (Kolasinski) Reese. He bravely served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Reese made his career as a carpenter with the DuPont Company and worked at the Deepwater, NJ plant until his retirement in 1985.

An avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, he looked forward to cheering on his favorite teams each season. In his leisure time, Mr. Reese liked working on jigsaw puzzles, building furniture and enjoyed creating hand-crafted Disney characters. A devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, he adored spending time with his beloved family and will be dearly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Robinson. Mr. Reese is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys M. (Norvell) Reese; children, Parke W. Reese III, Cathy Lynn Sissy Reese and Walter M. Reese and wife, Sherry; brothers, Ed Barlow and wife, Karen and Kenny Barlow and wife, Beverly; grandchildren, Dayna, Parke IV, Heather, Lindsay, Kelley, Amanda and Jamie; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday evening, May 15, 2015 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday morning, May 16 2015, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holloway Terrace Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 684, Manor Branch, New Castle, DE 19720.
