Patricia A. Thompson

Patricia A. Thompson, fondly known as “Pat,” age 77, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Pat was born in Wilmington on September 17, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Howard T. Thompson, Sr. and Ellen C. (Tobin) Thompson. She worked in downtown Wilmington for many years as a clerical accountant with Wilmington Trust and later accepted a position with Delaware Park in Newark, where she was employed as a security officer.

Pat was an exceptional baker who relished creating beautiful cakes from scratch. Over the years, she maintained an extensive scrapbook containing photos of every cake she lovingly made. In her leisure time, Pat enjoyed attending bingo and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brothers, Mickey Thompson and Robert Thompson, Sr.; and sisters, Genie Thompson and Marie Thompson. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Cheryl Thompson; nephews, Michael Thompson, Sr. (Reagan), Robert Joey Thompson, Jr. (Kelly), and Brian Thompson, Sr. (Kimberly); 1 great niece; and 5 great nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday morning, October 16, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720.
