Mrs. Patricia E. Krysiak, known fondly as “Pat,” age 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013.
Pat was born on May 20, 1929 in Camden, NJ, the daughter of Blanche D. and Robert E. Eagan, Sr. Her family later moved to Richmond, VA, where she attended elementary school and St. Gertrude High School, and later received her bachelor’s degree from Westhampton College of the University of Richmond.
She attended the Medical College of Virginia to obtain a Certified Medical Technologist degree and began working in that field. Pat was wed to Henry R. Krysiak on January 21, 1956 in Richmond, and the happy couple moved to Wilmington, Henry’s place of employment with the Dupont Company. Pat continued working as a medical technologist at the former Memorial, the former Delaware (now Wilmington), and Christiana Hospitals, retiring in December 1986.
Pat was an excellent bridge and card player and acquired many Master points. She also taught bridge to beginners for several years. She enjoyed playing blackjack at the casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, and always came out ahead. Pat loved to travel, visiting many national parks and Italy with Henry. She was an early member with Henry at Resurrection Parish in Wilmington, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant son, Thomas Edward Krysiak. She is survived by Henry, her beloved husband of 57 years; children, Michael J. Krysiak and wife Patricia L. of Wilmington, Mary Louise Newnam of Ocean City, NJ, and Susan E. Krysiak of Cape May Court House, NJ; sister, Mary Ann Blair and Dr. Charles Blair of Richmond, VA; brother, Robert W. Eagan and wife Patricia Glen and friend, Yoshi of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Sam, Rebecca, Emily, Alec, Thomas, Stephanie, and Rachel; and great grandson, Ben.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Resurrection R.C. Church, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington, 19808 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Resurrection Parish at the address above.
