Patricia G. McMonagle

Mrs. Patricia G. McMonagle, age 79, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 15, 1934, Mrs. McMonagle was the daughter of the late George Keegan, Sr. and Clara Zanzinger Keegan. She was a 1952 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in Philadelphia.
A talented and resourceful homemaker throughout her life, Mrs. McMonagle had also been employed as an administrative assistant at the E. I. DuPont Experimental Station, retiring after 18 years. Favorite activities included sewing, solving challenging jigsaw puzzles, tending to her beautiful garden and flower beds each year, and reading. She was particularly interested in genealogy. Most of all, Mrs. McMonagle delighted in spending time with her large and loving family; she was always at her happiest when in their joyful company.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Philip D. McMonagle, and a brother, Robert Keegan. She is survived by her children, Kevin McMonagle (Pete), Colleen McNeill (Corbin), Erin Porter (Todd), Sean McMonagle (Shelly), Senior MSgt. Denis McMonagle, Ret. (Debbie), Aileen Lennon (Daniel), and Brian McMonagle (Grace); siblings, George Keegan (Rose), Thomas Keegan, and Jeanne Gerstle (Gustav); grandchildren, Corbin, Sarah, and Andrew McNeill; Bridget, Isabella, and Joshua Porter; Shane and Alexa McMonagle; Leigh Ann, Adam, Logan, and Riley Lennon; and Emma and Kody McMonagle; and stepgrandchildren, Rachael and Carley Morgan.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, October 1st, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 2nd, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
