Patrick J. Timon, age 93, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2015.

Born in Jersey City, NJ on April 13, 1921, Mr. Timon was a son of the late Patrick Timon and Mary (Conlon) Timon. He bravely served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during WWII in Central Europe and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. A machine operator by trade, Mr. Timon made his career with Getty Oil where he worked for many years until his retirement.

He was a longtime parishioner of Holy Angels Church in Newark. An avid swimmer and diver, Mr. Timon was a charter member of Maple Valley Swim Club. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and gardening. Mr. Timon adored dining out with his wife where enjoyed his signature drink, a Seagrams Manhattan Up. Mr. Timon was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret. Mr. Timon is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rita J. (Leonard) Timon; daughter, Noreen T. West and husband Buz of Wilmington, DE; brother, Thomas Timon of Stamford, CT; and grandson, Ti West of Los Angeles, CA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 Noon, on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 Noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels R.C. Church, at the address listed above.

    We are very sorry for your loss, please know you are in our prayers. Pat was a wonderful gentleman and it was always a pleasure to see him at the Maple Valley pool. We remember spending many mornings at the Maple Valley work parties with Pat where he was a willing and able participant.
