Paul E. Smith passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 28, 2016.

He was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Smith. Paul was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific with the 206th port company. He worked as a Supervisor at General Motors for thirty-five years. Following his retirement from GM, Paul continued to work as an assistant funeral director for Spicer-Mullikin for more than twenty years.

He was a 32 degree Mason with the Armstrong Lodge. Paul lived for his wife and children. They were the center of his life and what he enjoyed most.

He leaves behind the Love of His Life wife, Jeannette Smith; 8 children, Joann, Paula, Jackie, Ron, Patrick, Paul, Rick and Scott; brother, Robert Smith; sister, Betty Warner; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Veterans Affairs Hospital, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 248 E. Chestnut Hill Rd., Ste 4, Newark, DE 19713.
