Pauline L. Kuenzle, age 93, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018.

Born in Elkton, MD on February 17, 1925, Pauline was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Helms) McIntire. She was a member of the graduating class of 1942 from Elkton High School and graduated from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington where she received a 2 year degree in business. Pauline worked as an accountant for 25 years at the University of Delaware Bookstore.

She was a proud member of the USO during WWII. Pauline was a charter member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, reading, and crocheting. Pauline was an avid supporter of the University of Delaware Blue Hens and enjoyed attending football games. Above all else, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother who adored spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her loving husband of 66 years, Joe J. Kuenzle and her sisters, Mary Hazel Choyce, Betty Jane Neal, and Mildred Delena Furches. Pauline is survived by her children, Louise Bachman (Jim) of Killeen, TX, Charles “Ed” Kuenzle of Newark, DE and Paula Kuenzle of Newark, DE; brother, Charles M.B. McIntire, Jr. (Donna) of Elkton, MD; brother-in-law, Howard Furches of Peach Bottom, PA; grandson, Trevor Bachman (Suzanna) of Temple, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Friday evening, July 27, 2018 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday morning, July 28, 2018 at the Kingswood United Methodist Church, 300 Marrows Road, Newark, DE 19713. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingswood United Methodist Church, at the address above.
