Pauline T. (Taddeo) Murphy, age 86, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

Pauline (Pierina) was born in Martinsburg, WV on June 28, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Pietro and Teresa (Marotta) Taddeo.

Proud of her Italian heritage, Pauline was best described as both spunky and feisty. Her home was an extension of her heart and she adored hosting large family gatherings and preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. She was a devoted Catholic and strong in her Faith. In her leisure time, Pauline enjoyed gardening, home repairs, sewing, crocheting, completing jigsaw puzzles and playing cards and board games. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, she will be lovingly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Bill Murphy, Sr.; a sister, Julia; and a brother, Billy. She is survived by her children, Patricia S. Murphy of New Castle, Theresa A. Christoferson of Woodstock, GA and William Wayne Murphy, Jr. of Newark; adopted son, Father David Hewko; sister, Anna; grandchildren, Corinne Long, William W. Murphy III and Michael N. Christoferson; 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Concetta.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, where a funeral service will begin at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be held at a later date in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist the family with funeral expenses may be sent in care of Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home at the address listed above.
