Pearl Ann Lawruk
August 2, 1925 - August 8, 2015
Pearl Ann Lawruk, age 90, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, August 8, 2015.
Mrs. Lawruk was born in Wilmington, DE on August 2, 1925, and was a daughter of the late Thomas and Flora (Cavalli) DeLucia.
In her earlier years she enjoyed taking morning walks around Battery Park. Pearl was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was a member of the Wilmington Manor Lions Club Auxiliary for 25 years and a member of the Stahl Post #30 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 63 Years, where she served as chaplain for many years. Thoughout her life she enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. Pearl especially loved her family and enjoyed spending time with each of them. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a dear friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Sis Jamison. Pearl is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 69 years, Stanley P. Lawruk, Sr.; children, Kathy Gunton (Howard), Stanley P. Stash Lawruk, Jr. (Joni) and Tim Lawruk (Samantha); brother, Thomas DeLucia (Pat); 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Joseph B. Stahl Post #30 American Legion, 3 East Jackson Avenue, New Castle, DE 19720.
