Percy Harris Potter

Mr. Percy Harris Potter, age 88, of Newark, DE, formerly of Harrison and Port Chester, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013.
Born in Harrison, NY on January 12, 1925, Mr. Potter was the son of the late Pirsel H. Potter and Edna Kittell Potter. As a young man, he proudly and bravely served his country in the US Navy for three years during World War II in the Pacific Theater. In civilian life, he made his career with the US Postal Service, retiring after 25 years of service. He was also an active member of the Elks Lodge for many years.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Potter, who passed away in 1997. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Lucille Smith Potter; sons, Andre Potter, Nathaniel Potter, and Kenneth Potter (Terri); former daughter-in-law, Michelle Potter; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, including his beloved niece, Alexandria Petty; and many dear friends, including Leon “Sonny” Hudson (Gertrude “Trudi” White) and Bernice “Bunny” Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, June 24th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 11 am.
