Randall C. Weaver
Mr. Randall C. Weaver, known fondly as Randy, age 72, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012, at Christiana Hospital.
Randy was born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 10, 1939, son of the late Ralph W. Weaver and Laura Rauch Weaver. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era, and, in civilian life, made his career as an industrial engineer in the oil refinery industry.
Fascinated by electronics from his youth, Randy greatly enjoyed building and flying model airplanes; he was a member of the First State Radio Control Club (Academy of Model Aeronautics #1256). An avid ham radio operator as well, he was a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL).
Randy was a member of Lafayette Lodge #14, AF & AM. He was also active in the NRA.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Elaine Humpleby Weaver; daughter, Lara A. Helwig and her husband, Todd, of Northboro, MA; brother, James E. Weaver of Shasta, CA; granddaughters, Claire, Audrey, and Vivian; many nieces and nephews; and his pet dog, Deedee. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara A. Weaver.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 7 pm on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Services and interment will be held privately.
