Raymond M. Parosky

Raymond M. Parosky, age 75, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Friday, July 3, 2015.
Born in Hazleton, PA on May 26, 1940, Raymond was a son of the late Michael Parosky and Anna (Goffa) Parosky. A skilled tile mechanic by trade, Raymond dedicated 25 years of service to Carpenters Local No. 626, retiring in 1993.
A devout Catholic, Raymond was a longtime and active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in New Castle, where he served as an usher and charter member and past Grand Knight of the parish’s Knights of Columbus Council No. 11469. He was a member of the Cardinal Gibbons Assembly (Fourth Degree) and the Men of Malvern. He served as vice president of the Delaware chapter for Ambassadors of Corneal Transplants. Raymond enjoyed sports of all kinds and was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles. In his leisure time, he enjoyed vacationing at the beach with his family and taking walks with his wife. Above all else, Raymond was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy M. (Swindro) Parosky; children, Gary R. Parosky (Amy), Donna M. Williams (Mark), Tim W. Parosky and Cindy A. Zalewski (Joe); sister, Paula McCluskey; grandchildren, Megan and Brad Williams and Grace Parosky; any many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Christiana Hospital CICU for the exceptional care they provided to Raymond.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday evening, July 8, 2015 and again from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Thursday morning, July 9, 2015 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Thursday morning, July 9th, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road Newark, DE 19713.

Our family came to the Erin shores motel back in 1986 where the paroskys vacationed in wildwood nj for the first time and one of the first people we met & became life long friends with was Ray he was such a gentle huge hearted man I will miss him dearly he became like an uncle to me & and like a brother to my dad he also use to join us every March as a fellow man of malvern God bless his soul he will be missed dearly love jimmy .Mae .jacob .jim & cookie

It is with a heavy heart that I say how sad this world is without Ray. You have been a part of my life for 50 years and the best neighbors anyone could have. I will miss seeing Ray everytime I visit George Read Road. One thing I do believe is my Dad was waiting joyfully to greet such a wonderful person into eternal life. I was going through some memories & came across a baseball Ray bought for me back in 1992 reason I know is he signed from the whole paroskys family it was so nice of him I will cherish it always he was always doing stuff like that he was so nice when my son was born he always had a gift for him when I would see him @ malvern retreat house he gave my son a stuffed dinosaur 1 year that my son named rexy he carries it too bed every night when I see jake with rexy I will smile & think of uncle ray I was down in wildwood when I learned of his passing all the memories made me smile even though I felt sad that I would never see him again he was @ my grad party from h.s & he was in the church on my wedding day that’s a true uncle in my book God bless his soul
