  • Denise and I along with our entire family extend our deepest condolences to Karen, Josh, the entire Maxson family and GSBC family.

We are grateful to have shared time with Pastor Lee a gentle kind committed leader in Christ. His smile was infectious and of course his handiwork was amazing. I confess I envied his skills because anyone who knows me knows my gifts are not in home repairs.

Karen and Josh I pray that you’ll be comforted by the love of Christ and the precious memories that you shared with Lee. We rejoice that he is now in the arms of God.

    Grace and peace!

    Rev. Gregory & Denise Ellis

  • Dear Karen and Josh,

We will never fail to be thankful for the time we shared in your home and the time I spend in ministry with Lee in homes and hospitals as well as the weekly services. Lee was a man who loved Christ and people with a deep devotion and dedication. He was 100% genuine in seeking the highest for others and worked to have the the ministry at Bear realize its fullest potential. He never tired of sharing the vision he was given years before that created the church. Others are still following his vision in a new way. You and Josh well always be thought of in the window in time that we were give to share with you and Lee. But, we would love to continue to be connected as God directs you into the things He has for both of you in the future.
    Love, Bill and Ruth Anne

  • Dear family members:

I am sorry to hear of the death of Reverend Maxon. I am the past Executive Director of Rose Hill Community Center and met Leland through Jeff Corti, a deceased board member of Rose Hill. I worked there for 35 years until my retirement last year. Leland helped me with a pesty boiler problem, actually i remember him spending the night one time in our boiler room so he could “see” the problem.

    I remember him fondly.

  • I was blessed to have known Lee. He had a true servant’s heart!! I will never forget his love for the Lord, his smile, and his genuine caring heart. Of course , I will always laugh and think of him whenever we sing “He Lives” at church … I will always remember him leading the singing, grinning from ear to ear, holding the notes extra long with gusto!

May God comfort you and Josh with happy memories .

    Love,
    Cheri
