Richard E. Pruett
Mr. Richard E. Pruett, age 79, died quietly in his sleep on Tuesday, June 30, 2010 at the home of his son Rick in Wilmington, DE. He was born on November, 7, 1930 in Rocky Gap, VA, to John and Mabel Pruett.
Richard was a graduate of Rocky Gap High School and Bluefield College. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He moved to Wilmington in the early 60s and began working for WAMS Radio Station. He made his career with Rollins Outdoor Advertising and retired after many years of service.
Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest passion was playing golf with many lifelong friends at Rock Manor Golf Course and other courses along the East Coast.
Richard is survived by his son Rick and wife Sheila of Wilmington, daughter Patty of Elkton, MD, grandchildren Jimmy, Ember, Samantha and Katie, brother Donald and his wife Della of Rocky, Gap, VA, nephew David Copley and his wife Mary Kay of Chesapeake, VA, sister-in-law Iris Pruett of Ceres, VA, and many other family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Billy, John, his twin brother Russell, Harold, Mike and his sister Madeline.
Services will be held in Virginia.
