Richard J. Sterling
December 31, 1956 - April 12, 2015
Richard J. Ricky Sterling, age 58, of Port Penn, DE, and formerly of Delaware City, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2015.
A native Delawarean, Ricky was born in Wilmington on New Year’s Eve, 1956, and was a son of the late George P. Sterling, Jr. and Peggy (Oakes) Sterling. He worked as a cook at Kelly’s Tavern in Port Penn for many years.
Ricky is survived by his 5 brothers, William P. Sterling (Diane), Robert L. Sterling, Lawrence R. Sterling, Gregory E. Sterling and Michael D. Sterling (Suzanne); and 4 sisters, Georgette L. Borrelli (Frank), Teresa A. Klonowski, Patricia A. Sterling and Christine M. Sterling.
A memorial service will be offered at 11 am on Thursday morning, April 16, 2015, at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 209 Washington Street, Delaware City, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Delaware City will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s R.C. Church, P.O. Box 544, Delaware City, DE 19706.
