Robert B. Skip Reynolds, age 65, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2014.

Skip was born in Wilmington, Delaware on October 15, 1948, and was a son of the late Clifford Earl Reynolds, Jr. and Evelyn Waller Reynolds. He proudly served his country as a member of the Delaware Air National Guard for 6 years. Skip worked as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #542. He retired in 2004 after 35 years of dedicated service.

Skip was a longtime and active member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Additionally, he was a member of the Maryland-Delaware Rocketry Association, the Basset Rescue of Old Dominion and the IUOE Local #542 Retirees Club. An avid Phillies fan, Skip enjoyed cheering on his favorite team each season. He was also a classic car enthusiast. Skip was a devoted and loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Reynolds. Skip is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Kathleen Wesley Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hayford (Col. Richard) of Fayetteville, NC and Janet Wesley Keskemety of Clayton, DE; brothers-in-law, Fred Wesley, Jr. of New Castle, DE and Ronald Wesley (Christine) of Wilmington, DE; nieces, Kelly Parker (Travis) of Murphy, NC, Jessica Keskemety of Boston, MA, Jenna Keskemety of Clayton, DE and Alyssa Wesley of Wilmington, DE; nephews, Wesley Hayford of Wilmington, NC, Jason Keskemety of Cherry Point, NC and Brant Wesley of Wilmington, DE; and his good friend, Annmarie Rosseel of Delaware City, DE.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2014, at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E. Basin Road, New Castle, DE, where family and friends may visit from 1 pm until 3 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Skip’s name may be made to the Basset Rescue Of Old Dominion, 3445 Seminole Trail, Box 248, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or to the Asbury United Methodist Church at the address listed above.

    first of all, my deepest sympathy for your loss. I can hardly believe that its more than 30 years ago I saw you and Skip for the last time. I don’t even know if you remember me – that crazy student from Germany who lived with your parents for a year as of 1982….
    In my memory I have this picture of Skip on your house boat doing the barbeque on the upper deck…..
