  • Dear Joanne,
    Mike and I are so saddened by your loss of Bob. Although we never had the chance to know Bob well, we thought of him as our friend. Ever gracious, with his welcoming smile, we shall see him in our hearts as he goes down the sidewalk for the mail and remember his steps as he arrived across the hall for your home cooked dinner.
    We don’t pretend to know your sorrow. So we can only offer our friendship and our prayers. But I certainly hope you know you can come to me for any help big or small.
    We remain, your loving neighbors.

  • Do not stand at my grave and weep
    I am not there….I do not sleep.
    I am a thousand winds that blow;
    I am the diamond glints on snow;
    I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
    I am the gentle autumn rain.
    When you awake in the morning’s hush,
    I am the swift uplifting rush
    Of quiet birds in circling flight.
    I am the soft star-shine at night.
    Do not stand at my grave and cry….
    I am not there. I did not die.

  • Bob was a good good man. He was friendly to everyone. He was unselfish and never complained or asked for anything, yet he was grateful for any little thing that came his way. He loved his grandchildren and was always eager to show pictures of them. He also loved his electronic gadgets, and was always eager to demonstrate what they could do to anyone who showed an interest. We feel fortunate to have known Bob, and we will miss him.

  • Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for your loss. I am deeply sorry and we are here if you need anything

  • We are so sorry for your loss. You and your family have our deepest condolences and will be in our prayers.

  • I am so sorry to hear about Bob’s death and I am sure that his family mourns the passing of a very kind, wonderful person.
    I knew Bob when he first moved to Delaware and lived in the Village of Prestbury. We were friends on Facebook for a few years. He was so proud of his sons and grandchildren. I know that he was very sad when Ruth died. However, his whole tone changed when he met Jo Anne and he seemed happy again.
    I am truly sorry for the family’s loss, as Bob was a very good person and will be missed.

  • Dear LaRue and Mike,

    Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s wonderful neighbors like you who are helping me get through these difficult days.

    I hope you are feeling better Mike and that you, La Rue, are taking good care of yourself, especially on these hot days.

    Thanks again,
    Jo Anne

  • Dear Scotty,

    Though we never met, Bob talked so much about you that I feel as if we have. Thank you for your sympathy and kind words. Bob was one of the two best men (the other being my father) I ever knew and I’m prepared to be grieving his passing for a long, long time. That you appreciated his fine qualities and had such a wonderful friendship always meant a lot to him and to me.

    I hope all is well for you. Please let me know the next time you’re in Newark as I’d love to meet you.

    Warmly,
    Jo Anne

  • Thank you for your kind words. I’m sorry to admit that I don’t recall how we know each other. Just a memory lapse on my part. Please clear up my confusion. Thanks again!
