Robert F. “Bob” Litzinger

August 16, 1949 - October 12, 2016

Robert F. Litzinger Bob, age 67, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 12, 2016 after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in  Johnstown, PA on August 16, 1949, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Brezovsek) Litzinger. Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country during Vietnam. He graduated from Delaware Technical and Community College with an Associates Degree in Bioscience Technology where he was awarded the Zeneca Pharmaceutical Academic Scholarship. Bob was a staff scientist for Quest Pharmaceutical Services until his retirement in 2009.

Strong in his faith, he was a member of Holy Family R.C. Church. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, and working in his yard. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his son, whether it was attending car shows or sporting events.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Dianne (Meyers) Litzinger; son, Christopher Litzinger of Newark, DE; brothers, Joseph Litzinger (Elizabeth) of Philadelphia, PA, Patrick Litzinger (Joyce) of Pittsburgh, PA, and William Litzinger (Kathleen) of Burnham, PA; sister, Dorothy Alessi (James) of Rochester, NY; mother and father in-law, John and Loretta Meyers of Johnstown, PA; brother-in-laws; John Meyers (Tammy) of Johnstown, PA, Michael Meyers of Marietta, GA, and Aaron Meyers (Shannon) of Manassass Park, VA; sister-in-law, Roxanne Robine (James) of Florence, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday evening, October 14, 2016, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am the following morning, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s name can be made to Holy Family Food Pantry at the address above, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Ste. 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
