Robert F. Montgomery
March 6, 1931 - January 3, 2016
Robert F. Montgomery, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 3, 2016.
Mr. Montgomery was a retired drywall worker with Painters District Council 21.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Renolda and a son, Douglas. Mr. Montgomery is survived by his children, Karen Montgomery, Patricia King, Steven Montgomery and Linda Kline and husband, Jim; 5 grandchildren; and brothers, Gerald, Frederick, Thomas and William.
The children would like to express their sincere thanks to Mr. Montgomery’s neighbors, John Healy, Shirley Beckner and Jack and Karen Short for their care and assistance over the years; friend, Bob Lance for his devotion and commitment; and Lisa of Christiana VNA who showed patience, compassion and true caring and who was an enormous blessing during this difficult time.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Montgomery’s memory may be made to the Christiana Care Visiting Nurses Association, 1 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720 or to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711.
