Robert G. Milkovics, age 63, of Newark, DE, former Vice President of Operations for Astra Zeneca, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 2, 2010.

Bob was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lynne, daughters, Krista Ann Milkovics and Stacey Lynne Hendrix, son-in-law, Joshua Paul Hendrix, grandsons, Dylan Paul Hendrix and Donovan Robert Hendrix, mother-in-law, Margaret Chaffee, and mother of his son-in-law, Ann Hendrix, all of Newark. He is also survived by his friends, who were too many to count.

He was a member of numerous social groups and boards, and was a conscientious, active and generous member of the Newark community, well-known for his sense of humor and warm reliability. With a generous heart of gold, he enjoyed taking care of his family and friends as his daily routine. His shoes will never be filled.

Born in Allentown, PA, on December 19, 1946, Bob was a 1968 graduate of Lehigh University, where he received his bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering before moving to Delaware where he started his career at Atlas Point (later Astra Zeneca). He led a successful career there for 33 years, retiring as Vice President. His family is very proud of his merits and achievements, particularly the warm respect and love his employees express when regarding him.

A celebration of Bobs life and gathering for family and friends will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm on Friday, October 22nd, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. There, his family will kindly request guests to write their favorite memory of Bob in a guestbook, and encourage his many friends to keep his generous spirit and wit alive in their hearts, actions and conversations.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob may be made to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801; or to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Ste. 101, Newark, DE 19713.
