December 3, 1968 – June 20, 2017

Robert J. Willoughby, Jr., age 48, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Rob was born in Wilmington on December 3, 1968, and was the son of Robert J. Willoughby, Sr. and Sandra J. (Cox) Willoughby.

An avid sports fan, he was a passionate supporter of both the Eagles and Phillies. Rob was a music enthusiast who knew the background stories and every song of each of his favorite music groups. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Sandy Willoughby of Newark; brother, Jason C. Willoughby (Tania) of Newark; sister, Amy R. Gordon (Michael) of West Grove, PA; nieces, Cailyn and Hailey Gordon; nephew, Evan Gordon; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday morning, June 29, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rob’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th St., Ste.1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
