Rosalia M. âSisâ Ingraham
Mrs. Rosalia M. Ingraham, known fondly as Sis, age 74, of New Castle, DE, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at her home.
Born in Lancaster, PA, on February 17, 1936, Mrs. Ingraham was a daughter of the late Paul Weiler and Rose Marie Strosser Weiler. She had been employed as a teachers aide with Small Wonder Daycare in Wilmington until her retirement.
An active volunteer with Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America, Mrs. Ingraham was honored with both BSAs Silver Fawn Award and GSAs Juliette Low Humanitarian Award for her over 30 years of outstanding and devoted service to scouting. She was also a devout Catholic and a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima parish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William M. Ingraham, and siblings, Paul Weiler, Anne Lantz, and Dale Horn. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey L. Rankin of Middletown, DE; Kevin L. Rankin, Sr. (Joanne) of Wilmington, DE; and Demmy M. Rankin and Rose M. Ingraham, both of New Castle, DE; siblings, Theresa Hart and William Horn, both of Lancaster, PA; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702 B Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805; or to Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church at the address above.
