Rose Marie Raymond Budraitis

Rose Marie Raymond Budraitis, age 76, of Lakewood, CO passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.
Born and raised in Shenandoah, PA on March 10, 1937, Rose was the daughter of the late Al and Sophie Raymond. She met her future husband, Benny, while attending high school, and the two soon married, she at age 19 and he at age 20. The couple moved to New Castle, DE, where they settled down and began their life together. Rose made her career as a telecommunications manager with the DuPont Company and retired after many years of dedicated service there.
She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Spirit R.C. Church in New Castle and was a member of Wilmington Post Cana. Active in her community, Rose devoted her time volunteering with Meals on Wheels. She was an avid dancer, and especially enjoyed Polish and Lithuanian polkas. Rose traveled extensively over the years, visiting Europe, Mexico, and Canada. She also took several cruises, including a trip to Alaska. In her leisure time, Rose liked reading the newspaper and doing jumble puzzles. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Benny Budraitis,who passed away in 1992 and her infant daughter, Lynn Marie Budraitis. She is survived by her sons, Benjamin R. Budraitis and Robert D. Budraitis; brother, Joseph Raymond and wife Carol; grandsons, Greg and Evan Budraitis and John and Steven Budraitis of ; nephews, Joseph Raymond, Jr. and David Raymond; niece, Christie Raymond-Barkovic; and her three dear friends, Theresa Harrity, Theresa Bell, and Marion Barton.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home of Wilmington Manor, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends may call from 9 am until 10 am. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
