Ruth B. (Gainer) Hossler

Ruth B. (Gainer) Hossler, age 95, of Claymont, DE, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018.

Born in Pottsville, PA on December 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Geraldine (Saunders) Gainer. Ruth was a sales clerk for Strawbridge & Clothier and retired after 14 dedicated years. After retirement, she enjoyed being a homemaker and substituted as a food distributor for the Brandywine School District.

Ruth loved spending time with her family and going to the beach. She was a lifelong member of St. Helena’s R.C. Church. Ruth will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and dear friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcom H. Hossler and brother, Francis Gainer. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nancy Casper; grandchildren, Peter Casper (Elizabeth), Brian Casper (Barbara) and Nicholas Casper (Stephanie); 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at St. Helena’s R.C. Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE.
