Sadie M. Parosky, age 81, of Middletown, DE, died peacefully, while surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

Sadie was born in Candor, NC on June 20, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Jonah C. and Mary Bell (Burris) Hogan.

A devout Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Church in New Castle. Sadie’s greatest and most recent joy, was the birth of her great grandson, Connor Daniel. A compassionate and loving individual, she will be remembered for her care of family and others.

In addition to her parents, Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Parosky; daughter, Therese Parosky Burdsal; and siblings, Margaret Banos, Regina Dorey, John Hogan and Diane Banos. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Johnson (Bill) of Biscoe, North Carolina and Dana Serfass (Rick) of Middletown; siblings, L.G. Hogan, Pete Hogan, Tootsie DiJiacomo, Nancy Pyle (Butch) and Joan Jones (Larry); grandchildren, Danielle Serfass, C.B. Jennings (Laurie), Brian Bowman (Rachel), Anna Burdsal, and Dennis Burdsal, Jr.; and 4 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11:30 am on Monday morning, April 17, 2017 at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Fifth and Harmony Streets, New Castle, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sadie’s memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
