Sara R. (Reed) Russell, age 84, of Wilmington, DE and formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016.
Born in New Jersey on May 5, 1932, Mrs. Russell was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Myers) Reed. She made her career as a quality control specialist with Johnson Controls, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
A woman of strong faith, Mrs. Russell was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church in New Castle. She enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her garden. A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Mrs. Russell will be dearly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L. Russell; sons, Ralph J. Russell, Sr. and Timothy J. Russell; and grandson, Ralph J. Russell, Jr. Mrs. Russell is survived by her sons, Michael A. Mansfield of Worster, MA, Clifford J. Russell (Linda) of Smyrna, DE, Charles R. Russell (Andrea) of New Castle, DE, Thomas A. Russell of Oklahoma City, OK and Johnathan H. Russell (Cheryl) of Millsboro, DE; sisters, Florence Cuthbertson and Leslie Coleman; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services and burial will be held privately at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
