learned about his many other diverse activities including his wonderful family. He was a wonderful
role model and citizen and will certainly be missed.

  • So sad to hear of Sea’s passing. I can’t imagine his not being on this earth and to his family, I mourn for you. He was a great guy. I knew Sea through his volunteering at Planned Parenthood in West Chester where I worked for 7 years and now follow in his footsteps as a volunteer there. I will continue there as long as I am able in honor of my friend, Sea Kapla.

  • I met Sea on a pod of 3 sail boats from our club, Singles on Sailboats, anchored on the Miles River. It was a once in a lifetime event. We arranged a very fancy dinner with imported Beluga Caviar and salmon flown in from Alaska. Women had long dresses and men wore jackets. It was hot, Sea didn’t wear a shirt. Just his white hairy chest with a matching red bow tie and cummerbund. It was a very memorable party. I hope this made you smile, because that is how Sea lived. We will all miss him.

  • It is with much sadness that I have received the news of Sea’s unexpected death this morning. I am so sorry. The Membership of Artists Equity as well as the group at Good Company enjoyed Sea’s membership efforts and his sociability.

  • A wonderful, funny, caring man, talented artist, inveterate traveler, and enthusiastic dater. Beautiful smile, great laugh.

  • Our condolences to the family on Sea’s passing. We’ve known Sea for many years and will miss im.

  • Sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. He drove me to the airport once and I knew him thru the singles group at Wayne Presbyterian church.

  • My thoughts and prayers are with the Kaplan family. I have only known your father for a few years (widows and widowers group). He was such a sweet man and I enjoyed his company on many occasions. After a few conversations with Sea I felt like I have known his family for a long time. He will be greatly missed.

  • My sincere condolences. This is quite a shock and very saddening. I first met Sea at SOS and crewed with him on several sailing trips around the Caribbean. Later he joined our sketching group. He was an inveterate dater and I will miss his sence of humor and lively tales.- it is strange to imagine he isn’t here any more.

  • My prayers for all of Sea’s family. Knew him thru widow/widowers group. A good man! Always loved talking to him.

  • Sea and I knew each other from Planned Parenthood days, I volunteered for 2 years and did security for 4. We met in West Chester and did we have fun, not easy with all of the distractions! Sea would always be telling me about his activities with the ladies and did we laugh. When I read his posted obituary I had a big smile on my face, what a wonderful way to remember him. I’ll miss him and the world will be a little less fun without him. A friend, Tim Skiles

  • So saddened to hear of Sea’s passing. I knew him thru Good Company and enjoyed many conversations with him about his art, travels and his beloved family. We will miss his stories and excitement about everything. Sorry I can’t make the viewing, I have a Dr’s appt. My condolences to his family.

  • May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

  • Escorting at Planned Parenthood in West Chester was always a bit nicer when Sea was there. His wonderful smile and cheerfulness, often in the face of horrific anti-Semitic taunts, were a model to all the other escorts. He was a dear gentleman and will be deeply missed. My condolences to all the Kaplan family.

  • It felt like yesterday roughly 58 years ago that cousin Seymour and Gilda took me out for pizza when I was staying at there house in Philly. Everyday for dinner was pizza. It was the first time that I ever ate pizza. It was one of my best visits that I can remember as a child. He was a kind and loving person. I will certainly miss him. My family sends our condolences to his family.

  • i just spoke with Sea last week at the Delaware Valley Art League membership meeting…he was in his typical high spirits. I was shocked to hear of his passing. My condolences are with his family.

  • Sea had a taxi service called Ride Direct driving people to the Philadelphia Airport. If there is a life after death I am sure Sea is going to a good place. My advice to him is not to make any side trips but to Ride direct!

  • I was so sorry to hear of Sea’s passing. I knew him from local social events — he knew everything fun that was going on around the area, and as a dedicated fellow volunteer for the Tredyffrin Township Democrats. He was a sweet guy, and quite a dancer! My sincere condolences to the family. We shall all miss him.

  • Sea sailed with us almost every year. It was always a pleasure to have him aboard. He was charming and witty and great company. And how he loved to sail!

We will miss him very much.

  • Sea, What will we do without you? At Meeting yesterday, so many people spoke lovingly of you. They spoke of the sadness of not seeing you again. I have felt nothing but grief since I heard of your passing. You were one of the strongest people I knew. You were compassionate and supportive. I loved that you escorted women into clinics, not allowing a few group of people to dictate to a much larger group of people. I pray for Renee and Jeff. I bet you were one of the coolest dads around. Love, Jean

  • I served with Sea as an escort at Planned Parenthood for almost 20 years. His cheerful smile, warmth and caring way was certainly reassuring to our patients and an example to us all. Sea had a busy, active life, full of avocations and hobbies, yet he was a dedicated escort in all seasons. As volunteers, we are there to serve and support our patients through the harassment and assaults, which Sea carried off with grace, humor and aplomb. It was clear that he had enormous respect and caring for the young women and men coming to the clinic. He was a strong supporter of our mission and was still serving others, right to the end. We will miss him, his smile and the twinkle in his eyes!

  • I made a donation to planned parenthood on behalf of my friend Sea. Unfortunately, they did not give me chance to send it on Sea’s behalf. I will miss my neighbor and friend. Planned Parenthood and the women it serves will miss him too. Thanks Sea

  • My sincere condolences to the Kaplan family. I only met Sea on a couple of occasions, through Seniors Helping Seniors, since he needed assistance with the water problem in his basement. He was a very interesting and delightful man…he will be missed.
    Kindest regards

    Michael Kasper
