Silverio Fontanez, Sr.
Born April 17, 1932
Silverio Fontanez, Sr., age 81, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 17, 1932 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Nicolas Fontanez and Sixta Torres.
Silverio worked at the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Newark, where he retired after many years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Vasquez Fontanez and his son, Nicholas Fontanez.
He is survived by his beloved children, Nereida Fontanez of Tampa, FL, Ruby Fontanez of El Cajon, CA, Martha Tindall of Lincolnton, NC, Maryluz Morgan of Newark, DE, Edie Trovinger of Wilmington, DE and Silverio Fontanez, Jr. of Elkton, MD; a sister, Mery Rodriguez of New York; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place in Newark, DE, where friends may visit from 10:00 “ 11:00 am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
