Sophie Kacmarcik

On October 18, 2016, Sophie Baranowski Kacmarcik of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at the Millcroft Senior Living Facility. Sophie was 100 years old.

Sophie was born in Lowell, MA and was the daughter of the late Victor and Frances (Ostaszewska) Baranowski. She was also predeceased by her husband, William T. Kacmarcik and her son, William F. Kacmarcik.

Sophie is survived by her son, Robert J. Kacmarcik, Sr. and his wife, Barbara of Newark, DE; her grandchildren, Mary Baker and husband, Bob of Irvine, CA, Robert J. Kacmarcik and wife, Tracie of Hampton Beach, NH, Martha Ager and husband, David of Middletown, MA, Michele Savin and husband, Frank of Wilmington, DE, Dr. Robert J. Kacmarcik, Jr. and wife, Kerri and Anne Johnson and husband, Ric, all of Newark, DE; and 16 great grandchildren. Sophie will be remembered for her love of family, her Catholic faith and the gift of cooking and baking, which she shared with her grandchildren and all who visited her home.

The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and caregivers of Millcroft Senior Living who took such wonderful care of Sophie during her stay there.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Saturday morning, October 22, 2016 in the chapel of All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11 am. Interment will immediately follow in the adjoining cemetery.
