Stanley Cledice Light, Sr.
Stanley Cledice Light, Sr., age 83, formerly of Willow Run in Wilmington, DE, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in Salem, NJ.
Born in South Charleston, WV, on May 8, 1926, Mr. Light was a son of the late Cyrus H. and Nancy Mae (Branham) Light. He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II in Germany and the European Theater. In civilian life, he was employed with Sun Oil Company for 43 years, until retiring from the operations unit in 1984. Mr. Light was a longtime member of Minquadale U.M. Church in New Castle and of the Sun Oil Club.
His beloved wife of 49 years, Ethel Elizabeth Maddy Light, died in 1996. He is survived by his son, Stanley C. Light, Jr. and his wife, Naldyne; brothers, William C. Light and Arnold E. Light; granddaughters, Donna Marie Feikema and her husband, Timothy, and Deanna Marie Hayden and her husband, Dan; and great grandchildren, Olivia, Emily, Anthony, Victoria, and Nicholas.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Minquadale United Methodist Church, 220 Minquadale Blvd., New Castle, DE 19720.
