Stephen Edward Dillon, age 57, of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Regency Nursing Home.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on September 27, 1957, Stephen was a son of Edward J. Dillon and Ingeborg Reicherzer Dillon. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. Stephen made his career as a professional equestrian groom for a number of years prior to retiring due to his disability.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and looked forward to cheering on his favorite team each season. Stephen loved race horses and the horse racing industry as a whole. He was happiest in the company of his beloved family and will be dearly missed by all.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Edward. He is survived by his mother, Ingeborg; brothers, Michael E. Dillon and Robert W. Dillon; sisters, Gisela Hemminger of Germany, Rose M. Dass (Jim), Regina Rodick (Bill), Denise Bowles (fiancé, Glenn Reedy) and Diana Yale (Jeremy); special cousin and best friend, Guenther Reicherzer of Germany; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where family and friends may call from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 600 Reed Road, #104, Broomall, PA 19008.
