Stephen Lynn Zack

Mr. Stephen Lynn Zack, age 33, of New Castle, DE, formerly of Rockville, MD, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
Born in Tuscaloosa, AL on October 18, 1979, Stephen proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. He would go on to make his career in automobile supply and currently served as the assistant manager of National Tire and Battery.
Well known throughout his life for his keen intelligence and creativity, Stephen was a devoted scholar of both physics and astronomy. He read widely in all types of science fiction and was also a gifted writer of his own science fiction tales. Other favorite pastimes included participating in autocross racing, camping with family and friends, and attending music concerts.
He is survived by his beloved wife of seven years, Kathryn D. Figgins Zack; son, Samuel Michael Zack; stepsons, James Robert Shreve and Brayden Kyle Shreve; parents, Judith Smith Zack and Samuel A. Zack; brothers, Jonathan A. Zack and Benjamin M. Zack and wife Ruth; nephew, Obed D. Funes; niece, Faith A. Zack; and mother- and father-in-law, Dottie and Max Figgins.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 12 noon on Thursday, August 29th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A committal service will follow at 1 pm in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
