Steve McGwynn Phipps, age 60, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Monday, October 6, 2014.
Born in Newport News, VA on June 21, 1954, Steve was a son of the late Lee Phipps and Glenna Arwood Phipps. He was an avid fan of professional wrestling and enjoyed watching the sport on television. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather, Steve adored spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Susan Lynn Arnold Phipps; sons, Lundy Sadler and Kris Phipps; daughters, Jessica Davis and Kayse Phipps; brother, Larry Arwood; and 9 grandchildren.
Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Steve’s name may be made to the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Center at Union Hospital, c/o The Union Hospital Foundation, 147 W. High St., Elkton, MD 21921.

Steve, I love you and will always miss you. I know we weren’t close as we were growing up but I always considered you as a brother not a cousin. I think I was closer to you than I was to any other of my cousins when we were young. Rest in Peace with no pain or sorrow.

Steve, growing up you were the one I could turn to. We seemed to be always together. Either in Orlando watching wrestling live or at your house watching it on tv. You were not a cousin to me but my big brother. I wish you were here cause there’s so much I could tell you. Please know I love and miss you oh so much. RIP big brother.
