Tamsey Kay Brown, age 69, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Born in Jefferson, NC on September 18, 1947, Kay was the daughter of the late James B. and Georgia (Howell) Lucus. She made her career as a civilian computer operator with the Delaware Air National Guard for 30 years, and later accepted a position with the State of Delaware, where she worked for an additional 15 years before retiring.

An avid fan of classic movies, Kay enjoyed nothing more than curling up and watching one of her old favorites. She adored animals of all kinds and also loved reading. Above all else, Kay was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and dear friend to many.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Neaves (William) and Ashlee Frank (Devon); brothers, John Lucus (Nancy) and Robert Lucus; and grandchildren, Lana Neaves and Lucas Frank.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 6 pm on Thursday evening, July 6, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 6 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kay’s memory may be made to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

  • I’m so sorry to hear of Kay’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Kay at Emily Bissell. I would always go to her office to get candy,discuss tv shows and share cat stories. She actually gave me the candy jar when we left Bissell and I think of her every time I see it. Rest in Peace Kay.
