Mrs. Teresa Flickinger, age 85, of Middletown, DE, formerly of New Castle, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012.
Mrs. Flickinger was born on November 8, 1927, in Clifton Heights, PA, daughter of the late Helen and Stanley Garchinsky. A talented and compassionate registered nurse, she began her career caring for new mothers in the maternity ward at the former Wilmington General Hospital. In her leisure hours, she enjoyed occasional trips to Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and other casinos to try her luck on the slot machines. Most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother throughout her life, who delighted especially in spending time with the apples of her eye: her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flickinger was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene C. Iggy Flickinger, and by her ten siblings. She is survived by her children, Kenneth E. Flickinger and wife Karen of Lincoln University, PA, Gary C.
