Teresa Pritulsky - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Teresa Pritulsky

January 6, 1926 - July 30, 2015

Teresa Pritulsky, age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2015.

Born in Allentown, PA, Teresa was one of 8 children of the late Joseph Leo McGinley and Margaret Louise (Sullivan) McGinley. Teresa forever cherished her memories of growing up in her large Irish family in Allentown. She graduated from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse – a perfect calling for such a thoughtful, caring, and kind person. Shortly thereafter, she married her late husband, Peter P. Pritulsky, and moved to Wilmington where they raised their 3 children. Teresa’s absolute greatest joy was, still is, and always will be her 4 granddaughters, who she adored and cherished. She loved watching them grow up and also talking about them with everyone.

Teresa’s sensitivity and intuitive insightfulness to the unspoken needs, feelings, and pains of others was exceptional. True to her nature, she spent much of her time brightening the lives of all those around her and bringing laughs, smiles, and tears of joy to countless faces. Even from her nursing home, Teresa found her own small way to do God’s work through her uplifting and heartfelt cards, letters, and gifts – an art she truly perfected. Did we mention Irish? Yes, Teresa will always be 100% Irish, and surely she’s having a cup of Irish tea with all her family right now.

We will forever remember you mom/Grammy/Gammie and consider ourselves to have been truly fortunate to have been blessed with you in our lives. May God keep you resting peacefully in the palm of His hand until we all meet again – remember to save us seats. Love ya.

Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her 7 siblings, and her son-in-law Shaler G. Smith III. She is survived by her children, Anne P. Smith, Thomas J. Pritulsky, and Philip Pritulsky and his wife, Adelaide; in addition to 4 loving granddaughters, Jordan E. Smith, Calla L. Pritulsky, Adelaide Pritulsky, and Mari Pritulsky.

Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Teresa’s life will be offered at 11 am on Friday morning, August 7, 2015, at St. John the Beloved R.C. Church, 907 Milltown Road, Sherwood Park, Wilmington, DE 19808, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Teresa’s name may be made to St. John the Beloved Church, at the address listed above.
